Actress/singer Janet Jackson was spotted Thursday (Jun 3) in Harlem, New York City as she filmed scenes for Tyler Perry’s latest movie project, the film adaptation of “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf.” Also spotted in Harlem on the set of the new movie were Whoopi Goldberg and director Tyler Perry.

The movie will be written, directed and produced by Tyler Perry and features a cast that includes Loretta Divine, Kimberly Elise, Jill Scott, Kerry Washington, Anika Noni Rose and more. Mariah Carey had also been cast but pulled out at the last minute for “medical reasons.” Mr. Perry said actress Thandie Newton will replace her in the film, scheduled to be release sometime in 2011.
