50 Cent is bringing the variety series back to TV. After confirming a new deal with Starz due to his “Power” success, the rapper-mogul has announced a new variety show on A&E tentatively titled “50 Cent Presents.”
“I grew up watching variety shows and am excited to put my own spin on the format,” the G-Unit general told The Hollywood Reporter. “I hope everyone is ready to bring their talent forward, I want to show the world the best of the best.”
The series, which is currently being compared to “In Living Color,” is set to be produced by Back Roads Entertainment. 50 will also executive produce the project, along with by G-Unit Film & Television’s Stephen J. Savva, A&E’s head of programming Elaine Frontain Bryant, Brad Holcman and Sean Gottlieb.
“Leaning into A&E’s legacy in showcasing the arts, we’re setting out to redefine the traditional variety show,” Frontain Bryant told THR. “50 Cent is the perfect partner to refresh this classic format. He is a true tastemaker across industries and we are excited to see his impressive showcase of talent.”
According to the report, the series will showcase music, comedy, and celebrities. 50 will, of course, star in the series.
This is just the latest move for Fif, who recently sold his Connecticut mansion. In September, he signed an overall deal with Starz to develop new projects for the network.
