Escobar is no longer open for service.

2 Chainz’ Atlanta restaurant was ordered to close its doors on Monday night for violating COVID-19 guidelines. According to TMZ, Georgia State Police drove by Escobar Lounge and Restaurant and “noticed that the location was rather loud, busy, and occupied to be operating as a restaurant at that time of night.”

Videos posted to Escobar’s Instagram show the place operating as normal despite social distancing guidelines. The restaurant and lounge hosted a Memorial Day weekend party on Monday, but there was little to no social distancing or face masks in sight. A long line started to form outside the entrance, while guests inside danced, ordered bottle service, and smoked hookah.

But the celebration was cut short after police arrived. Cops spoke to the manager before shutting down Escobar for “violating executive orders regarding protocol issued due to COVID-19.”

In late April, 2 Chainz decided to delay sit-down service at his restaurant and offer takeout only due to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, he announced that he would be giving back to his community by feeding the homeless.

Escobar reopened earlier this month after Georgia updated its restaurant reopening guidelines, limiting dine-in service to 10 patrons max per table and allowing 10 patrons inside per 300 square feet of public space.
