Jay-Z is calling on some heavy-hitters for his new album. While details remain scarce, The-Dream has revealed that he has been in the lab with super-producers Timbaland and Swizz Beatz.
He once again confirmed that the Roc Nation mogul is recording new material.
“Jay of course is working on an album,” the Grammy-winning hitmaker tells Rap-Up.
While he remained tight-lipped, he did share that he has been working closely with Timbaland and Swizz Beatz.
“Mostly close to Tim. Both of them actually. We were all in the studio together. We were all in the same building, working on Bey’s album and Jay started working on his,” he says.
Last week, fans got a taste of new music when Jay-Z dropped “Open Letter,” produced by Timbaland and Swizz.
In addition to working on Jay’s album, Dream has secured a verse from Mr. Carter for his upcoming album IV Play.
“Jay-Z’s on there, just got his vocal last night,” he said. “Fucking killed it, of course. He’s on a record called ‘High Art.’ It’s just great.”
The-Dream has also contributed to Timbaland’s album.
“Tim has a great record that he’s working on. I co-produced two records on his album. We were just in there working, just normal music shit.”
IV Play is due May 28 featuring collaborations with Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Big Sean, Mary J. Blige, and more.
