Jay Z is on the cover of Rolling Stone with the heading How Jay Z Became King of America.

How did he earn that title? The mag points out that Jay Z has had more number one albums than Elvis Presley, hangs with the President and is worth a bundle at the age of 40 thanks partly to $150 million deal with Live Nation after he left Def Jam.

Rolling Stone promises the inside scoop on the music mogul, including tidbits about his relationship with his “superstar better half,” Beyonce, who vetoed his decision to hang an explicit piece of art in in their home in favor of another explicit piece of art (think guns, perfume bottles and women).

The Rolling Stone issue featuring Jay Z hits newsstands Friday.
