Rihanna’s ‘Friend’ Matt Kemp Was Accused of Rape in 2002

It’s safe to say that becoming involved with certain people can reek havoc on your life, especially if you have a sordid past. With that said it appears professional athlete Matt Kemp has received much more than he bargained for with a mirage of investigative journalists sifting through his past.

In the last three weeks, Kemp, while photographed traveling with Rihanna, has had a restraining order and allegations of abuse and violent tendencies unearthed for the world to see. Now, sources say Kemp may have been the subject of a rape-related investigation at the age of 17.

According to numerous published reports, including an article posted by CNNSI in 2002, Kemp and at least two other athletes were investigated for allegedly forcing a girl “into sexual conduct at the Columbus Hyatt Hotel at about 2 a.m. Sunday morning while two other players watched.”

While Kemp has not yet addressed the allegations, things are not looking up for the athlete and his budding “friendship” with Rihanna.

Rihanna has not issued a statement regarding the allegations.
