Maxwell was humbled by his Outstanding Male Artist accolade, an absent Mary J. Blige won Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Album, and Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire swept in all its categories.
John Legend and The Roots paid homage to the late Teddy Pendergrass, while Jill Scott poured her heart out for Vanguard Award winner Wyclef in recognition of his humanitarian work in Haiti.
