Dawn Richard shows her appreciation to her Hearts by giving them more unreleased material from her Goldenheart recording sessions. On the flirty “Bum Bum,” Dawn brings all the boys to the yard, but she’s not about to give up the goodies.
The upbeat record, produced and written with frequent collaborator Druski, plays off Dawn’s Haitian and New Orleans roots, sampling the New Orleans song “Iko Iko” and referencing Sister Nancy’s reggae hit “Bam Bam.”
Dawn is currently headlining the “Goldenheart” tour, which will stop at Yoshi’s in San Francisco on March 20 and The Roxy in L.A. on March 26. She is also hard at work on her second solo album Blackheart.
