Kid Cudi’s rock project Wizard is no more. Instead, the Lonely Stoner has announced that he has changed the band name to 2 Be Continuum, with plans to release the group’s debut via his newly established imprint Wicked Awesome Records.
The G.O.O.D. Music rapper revealed the news last night during a performance at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom, stating that 2 Be Continuum—his project with producer Dot da Genius, who produced his 2009 smash “Day ‘N’ Nite”—is turning out to be “epic.”
“Basically it’s just me and Dot,” he explained. “I’ve only been playing guitar for nine months but the records are f**king epic, epic. I’m really psyched. We’re going to have that first single for you soon. Y’all ready for that?”
Cudder first unveiled the project in January 2011 after reviving his Twitter account, explaining that he was hoping to have the album out by the summer. While he’s improved at the guitar, he wasn’t so confident last year.
“I never thought I could play an instrument. I always downplayed that shit,” he said during a listening session for his sophomore album Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. “It was like learning how to read sheet music. F**k that! That’s like learning how to read again!”
