It was a blue Christmas for Jim Jones, whose mother’s house burned down in a fire on Christmas Day.
Taking to Instagram, the Dipset rapper posted a video of the aftermath of the blaze.
“On this Christmas, my mom’s house just burned down,” said an emotional Jones as firefighters extinguished the flames. “But the best gift of all is that my family is together. Everybody is safe. It’s just crazy.”
Despite the sad circumstances, he tried to remain optimistic.
“Sometimes, you just gotta count your blessings,” he added. “The one blessing we have is, we got my family. We can always buy new houses, new cars, new everything, but we can’t buy a new family. So maybe this is a time when we can be closer together.”
Jones purchased the house for his mother based on a promise he made to her when he was a child.
“I wasn’t raised wit my mother but my son was,” he said. “His whole life of memories gone in a flash.”
Now, the Harlem MC is vowing to buy his mom a new home.
“If u know me then u know I’m gonna buy my family the biggest house I can afford and fill it wit more love,” he added. “The devil is always workin but so is my God I got faith. Merry Christmas.”
