Two hip-hop headliners shared the bill on Friday’s “Late Show with David Letterman.” Eminem announced the Top 10 list and Jay-Z chatted with the late-night host before both performed solo sets (Em did “Not Afraid” and Jay delivered “On to the Next One”) and then joined together for their collaboration “Renegade” from the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater. Tickets for their joint shows in Detroit and New York went on sale Friday.
Em was pulling double duty. He also performed “Won’t Back Down” with The Roots on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” All this promotion seem to be helping his Recovery album sales, which are now projected to exceed 700,000.
