While most of the United States was preparing for this year’s Independence Day celebrations, conservative network Fox News’ Twitter account was allegedly hacked, as it falsely reported on the untimely death of the President. The hacker tweeted that the President was gunned down at a restaurant in Iowa, later succumbing to his injuries, listed as two gunshot wounds.

“@BarackObama has just passed. The President is dead. A sad 4th of July, indeed. President Barack Obama is dead.

@BarackObama has just passed. He was shot twice in the lower pelvic area and in the neck, shooter unknown. Bled out.

@BarackObama shot twice at a Ross’ restaurant in Iowa while campaigning. RIP Obama, best regards to the Obama family. #ObamaDead, it’s a sad 4th of July. RT to support the late president’s family, and RIP. The shooter will be found.

The tweets stayed up on Fox News’ Twitter page for 2 hours before the network caught wind and decided to take them down.
