It appears Floyd Mayweather will be involved in a super fight in May; it just won’t involve Manny Pacquiao.

According to ESPN.com, Mayweather and Shane Mosley have agreed to terms on a bout which will take place on May 1 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“Shane has signed. I sat with him [Friday] and we went through every provision of the contract and he signed,” Mosley’s attorney Judd Burstein told ESPN.com. “He is excited to move forward with the bout.”

Mayweather, whose March 13 fight with Manny Pacquiao fell apart because of a disagreement over drug testing protocol, is expected to sign on to the deal in the next few days with a formal announcement expected next week.

“All of the deal points have been agreed to,” Mayweather adviser Leonard Ellerbe told ESPN.com. “We still have to put pen to paper, but everything is agreed to. It’s with the lawyers. Shane is a great fighter, one of the best of his era, and so is Floyd. It’s going to be a great fight. It’s a fight fans have wanted to see for a long time.”

While details of the deal were not revealed, Mayweather has the option for an immediate rematch in the event he loses to Mosley.
