After receiving a 14-year prison sentence, B.G. is looking on the bright side.
Many people in former Hot Boy B.G.’s situation would not feel optimistic, as the rapper recently received a 14-year prison sentence for gun possession and witness tampering.
In a statement released to TMZ, the New Orleans emcee pointed out the the results could have been significantly worse.
“I am relieved I found out what my fate was yesterday because I was facing 30 years and my case kept getting pushed back.”
In addition to finding solace in finally knowing his fate, B.G. was encouraged by the proverbial “light at the end of the tunnel.”
“I am just ready to get my sentence started because it’s not RIP BG it’s FREE BG,” read the statement. “I feel happy and blessed that I will still be a young man and still be able to see daylight because I am someone, a dad, a brother and a son.”
B.G. added that he
“will have upcoming music that will be released while I am away.”
Earlier this week, it was announced that B.G. was headed to federal prison for nearly a decade-and-a-half, a sentence stemming from a 2009 traffic stop. B.G. pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, and obstructed justice by convincing an associate to claim ownership of the gun.
