Azealia Banks hasn’t even dropped her debut, but she’s already playing in the big leagues. The “212” rapper has revealed details about her collaborations with Kanye West and Lady Gaga.
During her first trip to South America, she spoke about her work with the G.O.O.D. Music chief.
“Working with Kanye was a lot of fun. I just kind of went out to Hawaii for vacation, and he has a studio out there,” Banks told Brazil’s Mix TV (via MTV News). “And he was just like, ‘You should really come to the studio,’ so I went to the studio and just worked it out.”
If that wasn’t enough, Banks has two records with another megastar in the bag.
“I worked with Lady Gaga, but I worked with Lady Gaga from afar. We worked via email and via Internet,” she said. “We have a song called ‘Red Flame’ and we also have a song called ‘Ratchet,’ but I don’t know what she’s doing with it. She’s going to release it when she wants to release it.”
Azealia has been working on her own album Broke with Expensive Taste, which is due in February on Interscope Records.
