Mac Miller was arrested for driving under the influence after a hit-and-run.

Law enforcement officials tell TMZ that the Pittsburgh rapper was driving in Studio City, Calif. around 1 a.m. on Thursday (May 17) when his 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon hit a power pole and knocked it down.

Mac and his two passengers fled on foot. An eyewitness called the cops and revealed the direction they had gone. Cops arrived at the scene of the crash, ran the plates, and found Mac’s address. They arrived at his home and he reportedly confessed to driving drunk and fleeing the scene.

He was arrested and taken to jail. After spending the night behind bars, he was released on $15,000 bail.

Despite the incident, cops tell TMZ that Mac was the

“most polite and nice intoxicated person we’ve ever seen.”

Miller recently made headlines after breaking up with his girlfriend Ariana Grande. Following the accident, Grande tweeted,

“pls take care of yourself.”
