While fans continue to speculate about a potential Jay Z album, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley has confirmed that the two recently hit the lab.

Speaking to Billboard, the legendary reggae superstar said that he collaborated with Jigga after giving him a musical tour of Kingston, Jamaica.

“We did some work in the studio recently and he wanted to come to Jamaica to get a tour of the place,” said Marley. “He’s been to Jamaica before, but never Kingston. So he wanted to come down to Kingston and asked us if we could have been there to show him around and give him a tour musically, in terms of our history in Kingston.”

Marley went on to reveal some more details about the collaboration, even if he couldn’t divulge it all.

“I did some work with him for some stuff that he’s working on,” he explained. “I’m not really sure of the details of his project in that sense, but we worked on some music together. I’ve been a fan of his music since he came out. We’ve never done any musical work together. So that was a joy to finally work together musically.”

Fans have been buzzing about a new Jay Z album. When 4:44 signs popped up around New York recently, some wondered if it was linked to a new Jigga LP. In the end, it turned out to be connected to a Mahershala Ali and Danny Glover film.

Marley isn’t the only star talking about his work with S. Dot. Zaytoven also recently told Rap-Up about his Jaytoven collaboration.

“Just meeting Jay and being in the same room with him, to even give him music was all that I needed,” he said. “It just made me feel so good and let me know that I was on the right track. I can’t say when any music of me and Jay Z is coming out, but we put some music together.”

Last month, Swizz Beatz also hinted at a project when he posted a picture of himself and Jay with a caption that read:

“They don’t even know what’s about to happen,” wrote Swizz.

Mr. Carter recently signed a reported $200 million Live Nation deal and is set to headline V Festival, Made in America, and The Meadows.
