(HHUCIT News) – B.G. has reportedly been sentenced to 14 years in prison today for pleading guilty to weapons and witness tampering charges.

The former Hot Boys rapper, who’s real name is Christopher Dorsey, 31, was facing eight to 10 years in prison on weapons and witness tampering charges, according to sentencing recommendations by probation officers, as reported by the Times-Picayune.

Making matters bleaker is the fact that prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney Jim Letten’s office have sought an even longer prison stint.

The New Orleans newspaper reports that B.G. was arrested with two other men in November 2009 for allegedly possessing three weapons, while driving in New Orleans. N.O. police claim the three guns and the vehicle itself were all stolen.

The time leading up to B.G.’s sentencing and the July 18 date of fate itself mark a downfall for the rapper, who once was a core member of Cash Money’s Hot Boys. Baby Gangsta splashed onto the scene with his 1996 debut album, Chopper City, It’s All on U Vol. 1 and following with Vol. 2 in 1997. He subsequently delivered Chopper City in the Ghetto in 1999 with Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood in 2009 marking his last offering.

On May 11, B.G.’s fellow Baton Rouge rapper, Lil Boosie, was acquitted of an alleged murder-for-hire plot of Terry Boyd by an East Baton Rouge Parish jury.
